When I try to type something in game and press enter to submit it my game crashes.

Did you launch with the refined gunz launcher or with the duel
u should do refined gunz for update i think mebe that is bothering you
i rly dont know tho im just suggesting

I did launch with refinedgunz and it updated so I am not sure what to try next

try renaming d3d9.dll to something else
