[RESOLVED]connection error
over here we got 4 laptops, 2 computers and a ps3. laptops and ps3 are connected wireless and the computers were wired.
now my dad thinks hes smart, so he took away my connection wire thinking im too stupid to figure out how to connect the computer wireless (he wants me to study more).
the problem is; it looks like i realy am too stupid.. i can connect with my laptop and ps3 (wireless) i always do that myself. but when i try to make the computer connect i get a loading screen, which goes away after a while and i stil cant go online. so i try to repair the connection and get the folowing (translated):
The problem can't be solved because the next action can't be completed:
Connect with the wireless network
Contact your network's administrator for support.
but wtf thers nothing wrong with the connection since everything else is connected to it. help?
the computer is an old windows xp

Re: [RESOLVED]connection error
Ok go look if your network keys consist of capital letters or not if it does TYPE it in capital letters... my dad had the same problem your describing but he didnt use capital letters. capital letters solved it.

Re: [RESOLVED]connection error
tried but didnt work
another strange thing is: i choose the right connection -> press Connect -> and then it asks for the key twice:
Networkkey: *********
Confirm the networkkey: *********
like im making a new one, and the real key is way longer than that few stars
yes i did delete the stars and putted the real key in there
i also tried it with that already filled in pass but didnt work either

Re: [RESOLVED]connection error
does your router have a button that you must press before a new device can be regestired.. like on an orange live box. it has a button you must press before you can connect for the first time.

Re: [RESOLVED]connection error
Did you plug in a wireless connection receiver in your usb?
Cause I dont think desktops come with standard wireless receivers.
Detecting and Receiving is a whole other thing .

Re: [RESOLVED]connection error
Newer desktops generally come with wireless built in.
Idk what counts as new though.
Changing your key to wpa seems like the best way atm.
Also check your settings on your laptop or something and compare them with settings on desktop.

Re: [RESOLVED]connection error
xp doesnt support wpa2 connections but the update should fix it
but idk how to make it work since ive never used it and the error you posted is so vague
jsut connect with the cable or use one of the laptops and change the key settings to wpa at 192.168.1.1 or whatever your router ip is
